Governance
we carry out integrated legal, financial and strategic governance reviews covering all key areas of best practice and legislative compliance.
we agree with the trustees to review any or all of the governance structures of the organisation, including the conduct and minutes of meetings, the use of sub-committees, policies and procedures in operation, skill sets of trustees and senior staff, risk management, internal control and strategic planning.
Always working closely with the client organisation, this process includes detailed analyses of governance against key legislation, regulations and best practice, and can include the following:
- Charities Act 2006
- Companies Act 2006
- SORP 2005
- Business Names Act 1985
- Management accounting and cashflow management
- Financial procedures
- Intellectual property
- Employment and discrimination legislation
Following the completion of the review, we prepare a report detailing recommendations: for which tools and other solutions will be offered. This process can culminate in training for the trustees/senior staff and/or the provision of written guides to maintaining best governance practice.
